Gemma Nash: Artist

Using sound to reimagine stories about people, places and objects

Job: Artist Assistant

Rate of pay: £100 – £120 per day (depending on experience)

I am looking to employ weekly assistant/s for all or some of the following days:

Tuesdays: 9am – 5pm

Wednesdays: 9am – 5pm

Thursdays: 9am – 5pm

Ideally starting the second week in June (i.e 13th, 14th, 15th) for an initial 3 month period.

I am a disabled artist living in South Manchester. As well as working on my own practice, I am involved in various community and arts groups in and around the North West. So the job is quite varied. Tasks include both practical and administrative support, for example:

  • Essential practical jobs: driving, pushing my wheelchair, preparing food.
  • Administrative & creative support: proofreading, note-taking, making phone calls, workshop & presentation support (including reading out slides), studio preparation.
  • Non-essential practical jobs: basic DIY, gardening, support with music technology.

This job is ideal for freelancers who work in the arts themselves but would benefit from a regular weekly income.  I can offer the role on a PAYE or freelance basis, with some element of flexibility around hours.

I am more than happy to employ three different assistants to cover the three days. This way I can employ people with different skill sets, etc, and allocate jobs accordingly. NB: driving my car is an essential part of the role so you must hold a clean driving licence.

To apply please email me with your CV, a letter of interest and your preferred day/s.

Deadline: 7th June 2023

Email: crip2night@gmail.com.

Thank you

Gemma
